The Job

As an Accountant at a small company, you will report directly to the CEO. You will be responsible for bookkeeping, reconciliations, and preparation of financial documents such as Profit & Loss statements. Our ideal candidate has at least 3 years of experience as an accountant or bookkeeper, and is comfortable using QuickBooks and other accounting tools.

Responsibilities

• Track and categorize expenses and cash flow
• Provide financial reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly)
• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Perform reconciliations of online payment processors and bank transactions
• Issue invoices and statements to customers, and ensure receivables are collected
• Prepare internal documents for external audits
• Improve our financial models through Pry or other modelling tools

Qualifications

• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
• Proficient in QuickBooks
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent English spelling, grammar, and punctuation
• Legally able to work in US

Compensation

• Base salary of $75,000/year to $90,000/year depending on experience and qualifications
• 2-5% end of year performance based bonus

The Company

Hare Media Group is a data company. We provide both businesses and consumers with information retrieval and reporting services. Our primary markets are people search, reverse phone lookups, vehicle history reports, and property records. While we do provide reports, that doesn't make us a consumer reporting or credit agency (under FCRA). Our mission is to provide easy access to public records at a reasonable cost.

HMG was officially founded in March of 2021, but the original startup was founded in early 2019. While Hare Media Group is still a small company (less than 20 employees as of January 2022), it would be inaccurate to call us a startup. We are a profitable company with strong financials, that was bootstrapped entirely by founders, with no outside investment. Right now, we're working to scale from 15M AAR to 50M AAR. That's where we need your help.
