The Accounting department at Southshore/United Container is currently seeking a high energy, detail-oriented, organized individual for our Accounting Clerk III position. The right candidate must have a professional demeanor, a willingness to learn, and the ability to be flexible in our growing company!

This position requires a highly motivated and team-oriented person who is eager to learn and become a part of a growing segment of our business. This position reports directly to the Corporate Controller on all accounting related tasks and internal controls. This position acts as a liaison between the accounting department and the Sales Manager. This individual will serve a wide range of company needs and will accelerate productivity and company profits through their flexibility and focus on ensuring compliance with company policies. This position is accountable for assisting the Sales Manager with accounting functions, including sales orders, purchase orders, shipment tracking, inventory reconciliation, and other assigned duties.

In addition to being able to fulfill the duties of this role, of particular importance will be the candidate’s willingness to cross-train in all accounting positions, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Inventory entry. The candidate must be a self-starter, high attention to detail, and organized.

Responsibilities:

• Communicate information, as requested to customers, vendors, the warehouse, sales department, and other stakeholders
• Carry out an assortment of basic accounting tasks in accordance with standard procedures, including general accounting tasks
• Compile segments of monthly closings
• ERP system experience – Dynamics GP
• Inventory entry experience is beneficial
• Microsoft Excel experience
• Strong analytical skills in basic accounting policy
• Detailed and can work independently

Skills and/or Experience:

• 3+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Dynamics GP experience preferred but not required
• Proficiency with MS Office including Excel
• Must possess strong organizational, analytical and communication skills

Working Environment:

• Work within Team environment and the ability to interact with all company departments
• Primarily in an office environment.
• This position may occasionally require exposure to warehouse areas where under most areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as hi-vis vests.
• Reports directly to Corporate Controller
