Requirements of position

Education requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Finance & Accounting or similar

Required job experience

• At least 1-2 years of progressive experience in Accounting and/or Finance with experience in transaction processing, sales ledger, receipt reconciliation and compliance with key accounting controls within a retail environment
• Good knowledge of ledger accounting and basic knowledge of bookkeeping and processing of journals

Technical skills

• Advanced with Excel, Word, and Outlook
• Experience with SAP or any other ERP software is an advantage
• Experience with Basware is an advantage

Language skills

• Fluent in English and Spanish

Responsibilities of position

The AP Junior Accountant is responsible for the AP processes executed on the Service Centre. They are responsible for providing day to day accurate and timely processing of non-trade financial transactions for stock and retail sales

Role objective and key responsibilities

The objective of the AP Junior Accountant is to process activities related to the trade process of the shared service center. Key responsibilities:

• Execute activities and tasks along the various key AP process areas
• Execute periodic reconciliations of general ledger accounts for Trade Debtors and appropriate investigation, progression and resolution of any identified issues
• Process invoices for all purchase ledger transactions for supplies of stock
• Review accounting records reflect transactions and suppliers are paid
• Process all credit notes and vendor adjustments
• Processing regular payments to suppliers
• Perform periodic reconciliation of suppliers accounts to supplier statements to ensure integrity of data processed
• Support that all relevant documentation is correctly filed/archived
• Support the balance sheet reconciliation of the AP Accounts
• Prepare and create Basware KPI AP reports for management purpose
• Key contact to collect issues, propose solutions and participate to future improvement initiatives from Basware
• Identify issues with internal/external vendors (price/quantity of trade invoices) and take full responsibility for solving discrepancies timely and efficiently
• Communicate with Distribution Centre and Purchasing department to resolve issues
• Ensure system clean-up for Goods Received/Invoice Received (GRIR) on regular base
