Position Title: Application Developer Intern

Department: Information Technology

Position Reports to: Application Developers

Position Supervises: No direct reports

Position Summary:

IT intern with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership in the Application Development team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides entry to intermediate-level professional or advanced technical software development services, under supervision of more senior professional staff, as appropriate to the day-to-day operating objectives of the unit.

• Undertakes and/or participates in engineering or technical software development design projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise that will support the units design for technical software development needs.

• Participates in the design, planning and implementation of projects and initiatives within technical software development area.

• Interacts directly with Business Analysts, Applications Admins, Business Intelligence, Infra and Cyber engineers in the resolution of day-to-day operational problems.

• Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from more senior professional personnel in designing, planning and carrying out activities and assignments.

• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Education, Certification, License and Experience:

• Pursuing a Computer Science, Information Technology related degree with focus on software development

• Minimum GPA of 3.0

Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

• Ability to understand and follow complex, detailed technical instructions.

• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

• Project development and planning skills.

• Entry-level engineering and/or advanced technical knowledge and skill at the Bachelor's or Master's of Science level within software development area of technical professional specialty.

Work Environment:

Remote with occasional in-person engagements.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak or hear, stand or sit for long periods of time, open filing cabinets, walk, stoop or bend, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and complete tasks requiring manual dexterity. Ability to drive a vehicle for travel is required for the position.
