Bar Manager and Head Bartender

M&M’s Tap and Tavern began as the brainchild of two founders who have a passion for fun, food, and drink in a unique environment where the experience is as inspiring as the menu. To support this growth, M&M’s is seeking qualified candidates for Bar Manager/Head Bartender. This position is full-time, 40+ hour-a-week, and considered a key part of the M&M’s management team. The Bar Manager/Head Bartender will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, and will leverage their experience, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit in overseeing the creation, launch, and growth of an integrated and on-trend/on-brand craft cocktail and entertainment package in support of M&M’s newest subsidiary M&M’s Tap That Axe.

Roles and Responsibilities

• In coordination with Ownership, COO, and Head Chef, imagine, organize, and implement inspiring craft cocktail, beverage, and complimentary small plates food menu
• As part of the management team, oversee, attract, and train required members of bar/event staff as required
• Manage staff scheduling, payroll, time, and attendance, anticipating peak, seasonal, and specific event needs
• In partnership with the COO, develop and implement employee training and evaluation systems and materials
• Set quarterly and annual budgets, ensure profitability, and set individual and staff goals accordingly
• Manage on-hand inventory and maintain supplier relations and contracts as required
• Plan, publicize, and participate in entertainment/promotional events and assess ROI
• Anticipate customers’ needs and ensure service always exceeds their expectations
• Other duties as assigned by Ownership or COO

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4-5 years experience in hospitality, management, or restaurant/bar
• Extremely motivated, energetic, and able to lead by example and succeed in a fast-paced, high-tempo environment
• Outstanding leadership skills, ability to engage and relate to diverse work styles and personalities in both individual and team-based settings
• Experienced mixologist/bartender to bring to life new specials, menu, and offerings
• NY State Food Protection Certification
• Must have an entrepreneurial spirit and experience in successful marketing
• Must be able to work late nights, weekends, and holidays

Compensation

• Compensation will be commensurate with experience and can range from $65,000 to $80,000+ annually
• Paid vacation/personal time after vesting period
