Rend Lake College seeks a part-time BARISTA for the BLENDED COFFEE SHOP at the RLC MarketPlace Campus in Mt. Vernon, IL to prepare or serve hot or cold beverages and other food items. This individual will maintain a clean/sanitized work area including seating area, preparation areas, and equipment as needed; provide product description to patrons; assist in student worker training and supervision; maintain and/or ability to obtain Department of Public Health Food Sanitation License; follow all requirements and regulations as defined by the Department of Public Health and Food Sanitation; operate cash register and process patron payments; complete closeout of cash register; maintain coffee shop equipment and supplies necessary for the function of the coffee shop and provide support for campus events. This coffee shop is located at the RLC MarketPlace campus in Mount Vernon. //Part-time, non-tenure track position.

QUALIFICATIONS

· High School Diploma or GED required

· Associate's Degree preferred

· Illinois Food Handler certification or ability to obtain

· Food industry experience strongly preferred

· Retail experience required

· Good communication & customer service skills

· Sales background preferred

· All candidates will be required to successfully pass a background screening process.

SALARY & BENEFITS

· Wage: $15 per hour

· 24-29 hours per week
