Bookkeeper

Mount Evans Home Health Care & Hospice is looking for a Bookkeeper to be a vital member of our finance and patient care team in Evergreen, Colorado (located in the foothills only 20 miles from downtown Denver).

About the position

  • Prepares all accounts payable checks on a due-date basis.
  • Assists in monthly closings by compiling monthly journal entries and posting into Quick Books.
  • Reconciles the company’s bank accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Prints and reviews computer reports for accuracy to include daily cash receipts, monthly revenue, accounts receivable, aging and end of month reports.
  • Responds to all vendor inquiries in a courteous manner.
  • Prepares clinician timecards on a weekly basis by exporting data from EMR for importing into Payroll Time and Attendance system and resolves discrepancies with field staff.
  • Prepare the bi-weekly payroll entry for Quick Books by department and class.
  • Prepares analysis of accounts as required.
  • Assists Director of Finance and Accounting Manager with annual audit work-paper preparation.
  • Gather information for grant applications and follow up submission reports for Grant Writer and Director of Development. Run semi-monthly reports from Donor Perfect and create monthly journal entries. Submit monthly reimbursement requests for DRCOG/PPACG funding.
  • Performs other duties as required and necessary to ensure the success of the Agency.

About you

Ideally you will (preferred):

  • Have an Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Ability to consistently promote, support, work, and act in a manner in support of the Mount Evans mission and values.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) or similar software.
  • Proficient in Quick Books accounting software.
  • Knowledge of Financial Statement preparation and GAAP standards.
  • Knowledge of Donor Perfect software reporting or similar software.
  • Basic understanding or clerical and administrative procedures.
  • Ability to solve problems as they arise.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Provide documentation of full COVID-19 vaccination or documentation requesting a reasonable exemption for medical or religious reasons.
  • Have proof of legal right to work in the United States.
