The Garrett Companies is seeking to hire a Full-Time Civil Engineering Associate at our corporate headquarters in Greenwood, IN or in Carmel, Indiana. This role will be a hybrid role working 3 days a week in the office 2 days a week from home.
As the Civil Engineering Associate, you will be responsible for assisting The Civil Engineering Manager on issues related to Civil/Site design of Multi-Family Developments.
Responsibilities

Due Diligence:

• Support staff with research zoning codes, stormwater management ordinances, utility maps, historical drawings, and surveys to identify conditions which may affect development of a project.

• Perform code compliance analyses of conceptual site plans related to parking requirements, setbacks, landscape requirements, lot coverage, etc.

Plan Reviews:

• With guidance of experienced staff, coordinate, schedule, and prepare engineering reviews of construction plans prepared by outside consultants for compliance with company standards and local requirements.

Detail Library and Specifications:

• You will also create and maintain current reference details and technical specifications on an on-going and as-needed basis.
• Ensure technical specifications are up-to-date and reflective of current construction practices and technical reference documents.
• Assist Civil Engineering Manager with updates to Project Status Report and Schedule.

Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
• 1-4 years engineering experience in civil engineering field, site planning and design, and stormwater management.
• Knowledge of basic elements of Civil and Environmental Engineering, land surveying and other segments of Engineering related to land development and property management.
