As a Data Architect Sr within PNC's Enterprise Data Management (EDM) organization, you will be primarily based in a location within PNC’s footprint. Preferred locations are listed in this requisition. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities can be performed remotely. Additional locations may be considered.
The Data Architect Sr for commercial lending will be a primary point of contact to enable EDM's enterprise data consumption strategy for a diverse group of business and technology stakeholders. A successful candidate will solve complex data related problems by participating in the definition of business and functional data requirements, evaluating alternatives, and recommending solutions, facilitating solution design through implementation, testing/validation, and defining critical system controls and protocols. The ideal candidate will have a strong data background, preferably data research and mapping, and be familiar with financial services lending products. Candidates with business analyst, model or data backgrounds are preferred.
Core responsibilities include:
- Analyze business intelligence data and makes recommendations for data warehouse growth, integration, and data consumption for the enterprise
- Work with IT and business customers to develop requirements for designing the strategic data solution for the enterprise
- Provide support and technical guidance to ensure architecture and framework are aligned with BI application needs
- Engage enterprise data consumers from varies domain, lead complex conversions, and build consensuses to move discussion forward with tangible action items
- Lead and consult on the implementation and integration of data warehouses; ensure data is current and meets organizational quality, integrity standards and enterprise data consumption strategies
- Work closely with EDM data consumers and lending businesses to understand data needs and requirements for model development, model execution and business analysis and provide subject matter expertise for asset class specific data
- Review and analyze asset class data reconciliation, quality, and monitoring reports on a regular basis to insure fitness of data usage
- Participate in key modeler and lending business related meetings and understand these groups data initiatives
- Understand and present the impact of data changes to modelers and lines of businesses for review and approval
- Data sourcing change execution and monitoring including issue identification, investigation, and resolution
- Support alignment to enterprise data strategies, migrating data sourcing to the Enterprise Data Management Platform and other new big data repositories
- Support the closure of audit, regulatory, and other control function findings
- Assist in other areas within the data and model implementation and execution field, as requested
Preferred skills and experiences:
- Knowledge of lending data sources, both origination and servicing data
- Familiar with EDM ecosystem and enterprise data consumption strategy, guidelines, and policies
- Understanding of IRM's risk management practice, especially credit risk and model risk
- Knowledge of regulatory model frameworks, such as CCAR and CECL
- Background in risk data management, econometrics, quantitative methodologies, applied statistical analysis, model building, analysis, and data selection
- Programming skills in one or more of the following languages: Impala, Hue, Tableau, SQL, SAS, Python, R, or other software used to extract, aggregate and prepare data for additional analytics
- Knowledge and experience with ETL, Data warehouse, Hadoop, Teradata, Tableau
Job Description
Designs, develops and optimizes highly complex, specialized data warehouses, with flexible and scalable data and ETL architecture, to support business users and Business Intelligence (BI) applications.
Analyzes business intelligence data and makes recommendations for data warehouse growth and integration for the enterprise.
Works with IT and business customers to develop requirements for designing the overall data warehouse architecture.
Provides support and technical guidance to ensure architecture and framework are aligned with BI application needs. .
Leads and consults on the implementation and integration of data warehouses; ensures data is current and meets organizational quality and integrity standards.

Work Experience
Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, PhD, or certifications is desirable. Industry relevant experience is typically 8+ years. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education and experience (including military service) may be considered.
