The Design Engineer will develop new and alternate plant and equipment designs and communicate these designs to our internal customers via working drawings and other documents. Will gather all necessary information for the design from the internal customer. Will prepare specifications and purchase equipment, which is part of the design. Will advise and instruct the operating department in the proper use of designed/purchased equipment and help with any maintenance/startup procedures unique to the design.

• Must exhibit a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in the field of Civil Engineering. Proof of degree required. A transcript or diploma would be acceptable and must be provided.

• Must exhibit ability to learn. Weight will be given to grades, engineering courses and work experience that are relative to the job vacancy.

• Must exhibit ability to perform drafting duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Superior education and work experience background related to design engineering.

• Several years’ work experience in related design work.

• Advanced training and/or work experience in design engineering. (master’s in engineering or background in a manufacturing environment.)

• Training and/or experience with computer aided designs.

• Possess current Professional Engineering License or, if candidate is a recent graduate, Engineer-In-Training Certification.
