Position and Locations:
COF Training Services, Inc. is seeking Full-Time and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP's) for each of our (3) three locations in OTTAWA, BURLINGTON, & OSAGE CITY locations.

Available Sifts:
Days, Evenings, Weekday Over Nights, Weekends, and Weekend Over Nights.
Full-time & Part-time. **Overtime available and is sometimes required. **

Pay Scale:
$15.00 - $21.75 an hour (depending on shift & certifications).

Hourly Rate Variance also for the following Certifications: CNA: +$0.25 per hr. | CMA: +$0.50 per hr. | Med-Del: +$0.50 per hr.

Essential Functions and Job Duties:

• Provide supervision and guidance for residents and individuals served during skills building activities.
• Follow individual treatment plans for residents and all individuals served.
• Assist residents and individuals served with daily living activities including but not limited to, preparing meals, household tasks, community outings, assisting with personal hygiene activities like bathing & toileting, as well as dressing and feeding.
• Cooking and Cleaning are daily requirements for all staff.
• Driving company vehicles as needed for community outings, as well as travel to/from scheduled appointments, including grocery shopping with individuals served.
• Develop a rapport with residents & individuals served, cultivating a safe and supportive relationship.
• Update case notes and all other required documentation on a daily basis.
• Always ensure an appropriate staff-to-client ratio.
• Regular attendance for scheduled shifts, trainings, and required meetings.

Qualifications:

• Must pass an extensive pre-employment & 2-yr background check screenings.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Should exhibit a high degree of patience, empathy, and professionalism in working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
• Must be able to communicate clearly, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Regular attendance for scheduled and assigned shifts.
• Must have a working knowledge of word processing programs, MS Office programs, Outlook email programs, and a willingness to learn other Company programs with training.
• If qualified, must have a valid Kansas driver's license and a good driving record.
• If qualified, must be able to drive large passenger vans in a variety of traffic conditions.

Education & Experience:

• Ideal candidates should be 18yrs old & have a high school diploma or 18yrs old & have general education degree (GED).
• Candidates with Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) licenses are highly desired, but not required.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.
• The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move a maximum of 50 pounds; push wheelchairs and provide stability support to people while walking, sitting, standing, bathing, dressing, and eating.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
