Job Title: Financial Data Analyst
Department: Finance
Reports To: VP of Finance
Summary
In this role, you will provide relevant financial data and prepare financial reports to assist in performance measurement, data analysis, and financial modeling. This is accomplished by extracting complex data, identifying relevant trends, conducting detailed analysis, and presenting conclusions and recommendations to VP of Finance. This has been identified as a new and critical role.
What your day will look like:
  • Provide analysis behind key revenue and cost metrics
  • Assist with weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc reporting
  • Access data from enterprise systems and provide meaningful analysis
  • Reconcile and research variances in data
  • Provide requested analytical, forecasting, reporting and project support
  • Work with SAS, Power BI, and Solver systems
  • Assist with systems integration, including data reconciliations and testing
  • Work in existing files and creation of new complex data analysis in excel as needed
  • Prioritize tasks based on the needs of the business
  • Communicate and collaborate with other departments
  • Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Deal with a variety of complex variables and possess strong attention to detail
  • Other duties as assigned
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience working with financial and systems analysis
  • Prior experience working in financial services industry preferred
  • Excellent analytical mind with strong logical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel user with the ability to develop and review complex models
  • Strong communication skills to engage with others and build support for positive change
  • Ability to complete assignments and prioritize workload with limited supervision, be resilient under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Ability to demonstrate an innovative mind-set and develop implemental ideas which have a positive impact on the business
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports and technical procedures
  • Effectively present financial information and respond to questions from managers and team members from other departments.
  • Knowledge of SAS, SQL, or other programming language. Power BI & Solver experience preferred.
Education
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics or related field from four-year College or University.
Reasoning Ability
Apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Deal with a variety of complex variables. Strong attention to detail.

This is a remote position. Candidates must reside in the Kansas City Metro area in order to be considered. Our business is currently operating in a hybrid manner however this MAY change or vary in 2023, based on the environment and business need.
