General Summary
The General Accountant provides management financial information by researching and analyzing accounts and preparing financial statements. Responsibilities include tracking and recording fixed assets of the company, preparing financial statements, and coordinating audits.
This is a hybrid role with 2 days/week in the Brunswick, GA, office.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
General Ledger:

• Prepares accounting related entries to numerous registers, journals, and logs.
• Assists in the monthly closing process.
• Performs monthly bank settlements.
• Tracks and reviews cash flow and related transactions.
• Assists in compilation of monthly financial statement and the quarterly reporting package.
• Provides all departments with assistance regarding account charges and other questions affecting financial statements.
• Regularly maintains detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts.
• Prepares analysis schedules of specific accounts for use by management and external auditors at year-end.
• Provides detailed analyses and explanations of all transactions.
• Maintains lease accounting software, updates users for accounts payable software and expense reporting software.

Fixed Assets:

• Prepares the AFE status report monthly to reflect activity in CIP account.
• Coordinates the physical inventory of fixed assets including asset tagging.
• Assists with fixed asset reporting to Capex user groups.

Audit:

• Conducts quarterly internal audits.
• Coordinates JSOX audits and related activities.
• Serves as liaison with parent company for audit reporting and activities.
• Prepares documentation for external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3-5 years general accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient in Excel and knowledge of ERP systems
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional attention to detail with good planning and organization skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
