Position Overview:
This position develops and maintains strong working relationships with existing clients and generates new business through lead sources for loan, insurance and tax and accounting products.

Essential Functions:

  • Sources new sales opportunities through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls and emails for prospective clients identified through leads sources such as online application requests/inquiries/incompletions, data mining, marketing responses and other prospects identified by management.
  • Attracts new business and qualifies leads through quality communications and client/prospect interactions. Effectively transitions potential business opportunities over a pre-determined size to outside sales team members.
  • Generates cross-selling opportunities for outside sales team with existing clients. Assists existing and/or prospective clients by answering questions or providing information during key milestones or triggering events that occur as part of the client journey.
  • Makes outbound calls to clients and/or prospective clients to cross-sell, up-sell or provide education that supports specific sales initiatives.
  • Assists with extending invitations to client events and education opportunities.
  • Provides regular check-ins with key clients and relationships to support the client journey.
  • Enters detailed documentation of client/prospect interactions in Salesforce.
  • Reports on standard and initiative based key performance indicators (KPI’s) regularly as determined by Core management.

Minimum Qualifications & Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Associate’s degree in business administration, finance, economics, agribusiness or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job. Prefer Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience in agribusiness/farming industry or similar experience in agriculture credit or closely related field, preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state (Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin) laws, regulations and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
  • General knowledge of lending, crop insurance, tax/accounting and other financial services.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and written in clear, concise and professional manner appropriate to any audience of the sales process externally and internally.
  • High level of self-motivation and resiliency in order to complete demanding objectives for prospective and existing client interactions.
  • Skill in developing and maintaining interpersonal relationships.
  • High level of integrity.
  • Strong decision making and organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications and customer relationship management (CRM) programs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
  • Ability to remain objective in balancing business needs and risk.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business.
