Program Overview
Spend your summer working alongside a team of top design and creative professionals in a full-service in-house agency.
Dimensional Fund Advisors is seeking undergrad or graduate level students actively pursuing a career in design or a related field to join our 2023 summer internship program. This ten-week program will expose interns to the day-to-day activities of a multi-disciplinary creative team as they ideate and create dynamic materials to support the offerings and vision of a thriving global company.
Interns will gain valuable experience working across the team’s functional areas of digital design, communication design, presentation design, and video and participate in a wide variety of creative executions. The ideal candidate should have a foundational knowledge of design principles and a desire to broaden and improve their design skills.
Responsibilities
- Gain exposure across creative disciplines by working on various design, production, and research projects for print collateral, websites, presentations, and motion graphics
- Work closely with the design teams in the development of a design from start to finish
- Work collaboratively with editorial team so that copy and design overall work together to communicate subject matter in a clear and understandable way
- Collaborate with editorial and design teams to translate data into clear, effective charts and graphs
- Evolve, enhance, and maintain the firm’s identity by working within the corporate brand
- Collaborate with people across the Marketing department to gain an understanding of the broad marketing needs and business goals of the firm
- Complete a designated project under the supervision of a Design Director and present to the creative team at the end of the internship
Desired Candidates
- Pursuing a degree in a relevant design or creative discipline (e.g., interaction design, HCI, graphic design, video production, motion design, etc.)
- A portfolio of student or professional work demonstrating solid design principles and problem solving skills
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, highly motivated, and able to work independently and in a team environment
- Self-starter who is capable of managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
- Strong design software skills related to chosen design field (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, After Effects, Power Point) with the ability to learn programs as needed
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
