Job Description :

SUMMARY
Establishes, implements and maintains quality assurance environment and procedures to enable successful release of developed or configured software applications used in the production of PGTI products. Manages processes and team members to conduct quality assurance testing. Manage the day-to-day activities of QA team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Establish the processes and procedures used to test all software prior to release into the production environment.
  • Implement and facilitate processes and procedures to test software released by the PGT Software Services Department. Use automated and manual testing methods such as integration testing, functional testing, load testing and regression testing where required.
  • Create and execute test plans and related documents that accurately reflect testing of requirements found in the functional design specifications. Create use case scenarios and conducts pre-release tests with the user community. Reports test results to development staff and monitors correction and retest of all pre-production code.
  • Uses a change management tool (i.e. ServiceNow) to track tasks and assignments related to software implementations and modifications. Maintains accurate log of all incidents as they pertain to a software release. Maintains source control systems for managing the storage and version retrieval of all software produced within the Software Services Dept.
  • Performs software test processes for all code/software placed into the QA test environment to identify any software defects. Participates in integration testing, functionality testing, and regression testing.
  • Tests and validate business requirements and functional specifications have been accurately implemented into software applications. Identifies gaps between business/user requirements and software functionality.
  • Serves as a QA liaison across the IT Software Solution teams and collaborates with various IT team members (team leads, developers, business analysts, etc.) to complete software initiatives.
  • Coordinate activities and manage assignments involving QA analysts, interns, etc.
  • Provides status reports regularly including establishing metrics.
  • Develops, maintains, and executes formal written QA Release procedures. Provides governance and confirmation the necessary testing has been successfully completed and code is ready to be released into the PGT production environment.
  • Identifies and recommends continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiencies and minimize defects in software applications and manufactured products.
  • Apply industry best practices and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
  • Practice and ensure change management standardized methods and procedures are used for efficient and prompt handling of all software changes via the company’s change management system.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee team members’ work to ensure process and procedures are adhered to specifications.
  • Conduct employee training and evaluations.
  • Manage testing schedules, ensuring the QA team meets expectations and deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in a Technology or Business-related degree.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst in software development or computer related field.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other software development tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft BI is a plus.
  • Experience in Manufacturing industry is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ITIL concepts, such as change management, change advisory board, incident, etc.
  • Familiarity with SDLC methodologies.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Software tester certification(s) is a plus, but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Usual office environment with frequent keying/typing, sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone and varied communication systems that provide a unified communication and collaboration platform such as Microsoft Teams, Zoom, GoToMeeting, etc.
  • The job is typically performed under comfortable working conditions in an air-conditioned office environment.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to travel occasionally domestically.
Occasional: activity exists less than 1/4 of the time.
