The Lead Software Engineer role is to help guide the activities of Application Development resources by leading & mentoring other Engineers along with working as a Senior level Engineer who writes code. This position will apply communication, analytical and problem-solving skills to provide technical direction to the resources building information systems. The Lead Software Engineer is responsible for setting the overall technical direction of design and development activities for new and existing solutions to meet business requirements. This position will be responsible for reviewing and /or documenting software design, work estimation, and communication of technical solutions to stakeholders. This position will have oversight of system deployments and provide support to other departments as required.
Responsibilities:
- Taking specifications from the BSA group and writing the code to develop advanced, scalable and reusable application module

Maintenance and production support of Knipper’s IT systems

Working well within Knipper IT team and occasionally providing feedback on client projects

Participating actively in team meetings and collaborating on planning, development, testing and deployment

Learning independently to advance individual and team knowledge

Writing well documented, functional code that can pass testing procedures

Communicate effectively with project managers and Technology managers about project progress and complete assignments on schedule

Effective end-to-end delivery of projects and programs. Ensures the right plans are followed, the right connections are made, the right actions taken, and ultimately, the right technical solution is delivered with quality. Escalates with good judgment. Is proactive.

Build consensus, secure commitments, and negotiate positive outcomes on engineering processes, team alignment, and delivery across Client teams. Level of influence into product, project, and/or program strategy, design approaches, architecture, team and organization.

Collaborate with engineering teams to drive product roadmaps.
Address bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. -
Review the system design for the implemented solution with the test/validation team and address any issues.

Ensure development resources are executing code unit tests.

Assist in the scoping activities for testing and validation efforts.

Mentor technical staff involved on technical aspects of the systems developed.

Transfer knowledge of developed systems to support teams.

Participate in regulatory compliance or other company mandated training.

Manage the creation and maintenance of system documentation as specified by Knipper standards, policies and procedures.

Ensure that development resources are creating the appropriate documentation.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
-
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.

5-7 years of experience with web development
- At least 2 years’ experience leading development teams as a technical lead. Proficiency in Microsoft .NET 4.5 or higher, ASP.NET, Boilerplate, MVC, Entity Framework
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Required Technical qualifications:

Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript

Familiarity with AngularJS/React, Bootstrap, SASS

Familiarity with Microsoft Azure environment
-
Familiarity with Web services (SOAP/REST), and/or microservices development
-
Familiarity with source control (TFS – Team foundation server)
-
Advance knowledge of SQL and relational database to perform tuning and participate with Architects to enhance Application data model
- Familiarity with Azure SQL Database/SQL Server, T-SQL, Stored Procedures

Understanding of material design, responsive design
-
Understanding of continuous integration, Agile methodologies

Helpful skills include Microsoft SQL Server SSIS, MuleSoft ESB
Preferred qualifications:

Experience in developing Applications for Pharmaceuticals industry or any regulated industry; and maintain required documentation to meet compliance requirements

Experience with the Agile development methodology

A knowledge of security best practices in web software, especially preventing CSRF, XSS, and SQL injection attacks

Ability to work independently, perform under pressure and adapt to change

Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills

High level of concern for quality of client deliverables and a high level of integrity
