Are you interested in graphic design and digital marketing? If so, Lamar Advertising has a great opportunity for you! Our Corporate office in Baton Rouge, LA, is now hiring a Marketing Graphic Designer Sr. to help enforce Lamar’s company brand identity throughout all channels.

The Marketing Graphic Designer, Sr. supports Lamar Advertising Company at the Corporate level, creating various marketing materials for the company. This position acts in a senior design role within the Marketing Creative department by helping to enforce Lamar’s company brand identity throughout all channels. They work with the VP of Creative and the Marketing Art Director to set the tone for the brand style and to ensure that it’s represented on all collateral. This design position will work closely with the Communications team and focus on design projects related to social media and email marketing. They will also be cross-trained to work alongside our Art Directors on branding projects and back up all designers on the Marketing Design Team.

A day in the life:

  • Digital Marketing & Social Media: Collaborate with the Communications team to design graphics (cover photos, seasonal, special offers, campaign announcements, animations, etc.) for Lamar’s social media channels to maximize engagement.
  • Photo Editing & Mockups: Digitally enhance, resize, and mockup photos of Lamar inventory to be used on corporate/local websites, sales/marketing collateral, social media, and press requests.
  • Branding Projects: Work with Marketing Art Director on various design projects to promote Lamar, following Lamar brand guidelines.
  • Event Marketing & Design: Assist Art Director with the branding of special events and help execute a variety of print and digital assets as needed.
  • Local Requests: Be cross trained to support Marketing designers whose primary function is to fulfill local/office requests such as one sheets, maps, etc.
  • Email Marketing and Web Graphics: Design and execute graphics for email and web that are engaging and “on message” to be used for corporate and local email marketing while adhering to Lamar’s brand identity.

What we're looking for in YOU:

  • Must be creative, forward-thinking, with a solid understanding of design concepts, particularly layout and typography
  • Ability to work on multiple projects while adhering to creative direction and brand identity
  • Strong copywriting and grammatical skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to balance projects, set deadlines, and manage expectations
  • Ability to brainstorm individually and collaboratively, mock up designs and present ideas
  • Experience in working with printers and setting up print ready files
  • Must have an eye for details and be able to respond positively to constructive criticism
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Google Slides
  • Experience with creating for web and email graphics
  • Advanced photo editing skills preferred
  • Photography experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of social media platforms
  • Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects for simple animations is a plus
  • Basic web design experience is a plus.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design required
  • Must submit a portfolio of work (whether by attachment or by a link to an online version) at the time of application to be considered
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in an agency or similar environment is required

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The primary work environment is an office.
  • The physical demands for this position include light lifting, seeing (with a focus on reading), sitting more than 50% of the time, talking, and walking.
  • Nights spent traveling, away from home, are less than 10%.
