Job Description :
- Design new features (architecturally, not UI), implement new features, fix issues in the existing code base, and perform code reviews for components of our server-side ecosystem that power Garmin Subscriptions
- Design, develop, and maintain server-side components of our subscription services using a wide range of technologies and Azure services – C#/.NET, ASP.NET, SQL Server, Redis, Event Hubs, and others
- Utilize a modern CI/CD system for one-click deploys to our internal and cloud infrastructure.
- Research, evaluate, and if appropriate, implement new technology
- Invest in development support activities including code review, collaborative design sessions, project/sprint planning, end-user support, and feature demos
- Support working hours as part of a rotating schedule to provide on call support of Garmin’s 24/7 operations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related field AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Professional development experience with modern programming languages and tools. Experience with C# or a similar object-oriented language such as Java is preferred, along with experience with SQL or NoSQL databases, and experience developing web applications
- Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 as a general rule)
- A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals such as algorithms, data structures, principles of software engineering, and object-oriented design
- Knowledge of relevant software engineering tools (configuration management systems, build processes, debuggers, profilers, and emulators)
- Ability to be on call on a rotating schedule
- Billing and financial systems and/or bookkeeping and accounting experience
