Outside Sales/Business Development - Central Arizona
Remote: Candidate must live within the greater Phoenix, AZ area
Compensation - $65,000 plus commission
Job Summary
The Outside Sales/Business Developement position at Rural Metro Fire serves as the core of our driving force to expand subscriptions supporting our operational team.
Business Development is responsible for driving new commercial and residential business, ensuring positive client relations, maintaining high customer service standards, and growing relationships with operational partners.
Essential Functions/Duties
This is an outside sales position that is best suited for someone that enjoys building long-term relationships, being active in the community, and is highly visible within their assigned territory.
Initially, there will be a great deal of training involved. We want this person to understand the solutions they represent and our ability to deliver on the needs of each customer.
- Generating leads for new business through actions like
- Utilizing customer and professional referrals
- Working relationships with building, construction, home centered professionals
- Community involvement
- Collaborating with leadership on marketing programs
- Participating in community networking events to draw in prospects
- Cold calling
- Completing the full sales cycle from introduction and discovery to the needs analysis, proposal creation, closure, and ongoing follow up and management of your accounts.
- Initiate and maintain routine contacts (to include visits, phone calls and mailings) to existing clients, in order to ensure smooth working relationships (field-based marketing).
- Working directly to build repour with residents, HOA's, title companies, Realtors, property management companies, home builders and numerous types of commercial businesses throughout the county.
- Meeting Monthly/Quarterly New Business Revenue Goals Set Annually
- You will be responsible for educating the community and showcasing the benefits of Rural Metro Fire Department.
- Creating a structured plan that will encompass your current, quarterly, and annual objectives.
- Identify and recruit Independent Representatives to improve new account generation.
- Analyzing what sales methods have been generating business and what areas need improvement.
- Administrative duties supporting GMR Membership Operations as needed.
Required Qualifications
Education
- BA/BS degree in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred. In Lieu of a degree, 10 or more years of relevant experience may be substituted.
Skills
- Previous outside sales experience preferred
- Strong communication and follow up skills are a must, along with solid computer skills.
- Working knowledge of 911 services preferred
- Valid state drivers' license
