GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
This Product Plant Manager is a “Hands on Manager” responsible for leading the design, implementation, and improvement of all Plant Production Processes to meet the expectations of our customers. These include, but are not limited to the processes of fabrication and final inspection. Working with these various teams, this position is responsible and accountable for meeting the daily and annual goals and objectives related to safety, quality, productivity standards, workforce utilization, labor and variable manufacturing costs and reliable delivery. Creates and maintains a work environment that reflects employee involvement, innovation, and demonstrates continuous improvement. This position will assist in customer on-site visits and will represent the company within our local communities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads Supervisors and Team Leaders assigned to production and maintenance.
  • Ensures 100% on-time delivery of customer production requirements
  • Collaborates with various team members, coordinates production schedules to ensure the efficient use of equipment and personnel that meet the customer’s scheduling expectations. This includes determination of required manpower hours per shifts
  • Ensures plant performance meets or exceeds standard Safety, Financial, Productivity and Delivery Goals as defined in the written Performance Metrics.
  • Responsible for establishing, measuring, monitoring, and improving safety, quality, cost, production, and delivery goals.
  • Participates on Project Launch and Continuous Improvement Teams
  • Responsible for building and production equipment maintenance and maintenance records kept updated
  • Completes monthly summary reports of significant activities, project status updates and key measurables
  • Establishes and maintains training and development plans of production and maintenance departments
  • Responsible for providing direct feedback to Human Resources in matters dealing with staffing within your department.
  • Responsible for providing timely and relevant performance feedback to employees and completing annual associate evaluations as required.
  • Administers all Company Procedures and Policies fairly and consistently.
  • Ensures the accurate reporting of various operational reports; addresses shortfalls with containment actions and implements long term corrective actions that prevent re-occurrences.
  • Ensures that an effective 5S program is implemented and maintained all assigned work areas; areas are to be kept in a kept in a safe, clean and organized manner.
  • Any additional duties as needed.

NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in customer and visitors’ presentations. Assists with Customer Quotes
  • Demonstrates knowledge and familiarity with ISO and IATF requirements.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 15 years production management experience in manufacturing, automotive manufacturing preferred; or Bachelor’s Degree in manufacturing, industrial management, or business with minimum 10 years manufacturing experience
  • Knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma concepts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft tools including Office 365, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, & Project
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing software to include inventory management, production scheduling, etc
  • Ability to interpret drawings and technical specifications
  • Skilled in coaching, team building and conflict resolution required

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Exerting up to 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10-25 lbs. of force frequently and/or greater than up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess for sedentary work.

SUMMARY OF WORKING CONDITIONS:

Employee is aware of potential exposure to hazardous materials, and environmental changes (heat/cold).
