The Pharmacist ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for the Class A Pharmacy; compounds and dispenses prescribed medications; may provide functional supervision of professional, paraprofessional, and support staff; and perform related duties as required. Pharmacist is responsible for planning and directing the work of the Class A Pharmacy.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES

• Continuous supervision of Medical staff carrying out the pharmacy related aspects of provision. Conduct in-service training, at least annually, for supportive personnel who provide drugs. Such training shall be related to actions, contraindications, adverse reactions, and pharmacology of drugs contained in the formulary.
• Document on-site visits as specified by the Texas Administrative Code to ensure the Clinic is following set policies and procedures. Meet inspection and other requirements of the Texas Pharmacy Act and the Texas Pharmacy Rules.
• Develop a formulary for the Clinic consisting of drugs/devices needed to meet the objective of the clinic, procurement, and storage of drugs/devices, determining specifications of all drugs/devices procured by the Cl.
• Dispensing of prescription orders and maintain records of all transactions of the pharmacy as may be required by applicable laws and necessary to maintain accurate control and accountability for all drugs/devices.
• Develop and annually review policy and procedure manual for the pharmacy
• All other duties as assigned within scope.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or pharmacology.
• Proven experience as a pharmacist.
• Valid license to practice as a pharmacist.
• Detailed understanding and knowledge of dosage requirements and administration, chemical compounds, and pharmaceutical brands.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and software applications, used by pharmacies, such as PrimeRX and Mediware.
