Friday - Tuesday midnight - 8:30am

Pay rate is $21.00 + based on experience, per hour, plus applicable differentials

$1500 sign on bonus available

What You’ll Do:

Entails final product labeling of all blood products, irradiating/xraying of blood products for special orders. Works independently with a high volume of work with minimal supervision. As the employee gains experience, they will be trained on retrieving products for quarantine, evaluating products in quarantine for release. Manage waste disposal of discarded products and shipping samples and products for research.

-May perform immunohematology blood bank procedures.

- Maintains knowledge of procedures necessary to perform and interpret tests and to generate immunohematology test results. Maintain knowledge of procedures necessary to perform production, quarantine and release of blood products.

-Performs quality control functions and daily equipment maintenance. Maintains Good Manufacturing Practices.

-Maintains neat and accurate records and a clean and orderly work area. Recognizes and reports discrepant results or conditions to the supervisor.

-Performs all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures, Safety Quality Identity Potency Purity (SQUIPP), regulations outlined in the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and other applicable Federal, state and local regulations.

Participates and/or assists in laboratory education and training. May serve as a trainer for new hires. Attends continuing education programs.

-Performs tasks relating to ongoing evaluations and projects as requested.

-Provides on-call coverage as required.

-Ensures that customer satisfaction is always given top priority.

What We Need From You:

High School diploma, GED or equivalent, plus MLT, or minimum 30 credits in college level math and/or science.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Frequently lift and/or move objects 10-50lbs unassisted.  Frequently required to push carts weighing up to 100 pounds on flat flooring or ramps. Frequently required to stand for long periods, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch. Occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust and focus. Able to withstand temperatures in a typical blood banking environment including refrigerators and freezers. Position may require climbing of step ladders. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs.
