RESTORE TRUCK DRIVER / DONATION AMBASSADOR

Non-Exempt, Part-time hourly

Average 12-15 hours/week

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Review in advance and understand daily schedule for pickups.
• Communicate with donors as needed by phone or email.
• Ensure timely and efficient pick-up and delivery of donations and purchased items as scheduled.
• Screen donations for ReStore use and salability, keeping up to date on acceptable/unacceptable items.
• Provide donors with donation receipts and excellent customer service.
• Ensure proper maintenance of vehicles and equipment, perform preventative maintenance, daily cleaning of ReStore vehicle and equipment.
• Maintain Mileage Records and pick up schedules; documenting mileage & truck issues daily.
• Maintain accurate records of donor contacts and donations.
• Load and unload all donations using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Follow all safety and best practice policies to support a safe work environment.
• Provide support to ReStore manager and staff as needed for processing donations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

• Experience driving commercial vehicles, with ability to operate a 24-foot box truck.
• Knowledge of furniture moving techniques.
• Ability to spend most time standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling and reaching to assist customers and perform daily tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry 75+ pounds, effectively participating in physical duties throughout a 4-6 hour shift.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to relate well with staff, volunteers, donors, and customers.
• Ability to provide direction to and lead assisting volunteers and staff.
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment and unexpected shifts in priorities.
• Ability to meet all deadlines as agreed upon by the immediate manager.
• Willingness and ability to serve as an Ambassador for Habitat for Humanity by representing the organization and advocating for its mission to the community.

Requirements

• Possess valid PA driver's license with an excellent driving record. CDL not necessary.
• Must be able to lift 75+lbs., stand, squat, bend and climb for 4-6 hours at a time.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• MUST PROVIDE PERMISSION TO OBTAIN DEPT. OF MOTOR VEHICLE HISTORY REPORT and BACKGROUND CHECK.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
