Job Description :
On behalf of our client in the Financial Services Sector, PROCOM is looking for a Senior Application Developer.
Overview.
This senior developer role is within a global application development team responsible for Real Time Pricing and Risk applications for Rates trading business. The role will focus on design and implementation of critical new features as well as migration of the key persistence layer for pricing functionality to a new database. This role requires strong programming skills in Java, strong knowledge of relational databases and various streaming frameworks.
Senior Application Developer–Key Responsibilities.
- Collaborate with the team to understand functional and operational requirements.
- Come up with designs and implement robust and testable code in support of the requirements.
- Develop certain non-functional features in the system to improve reliability, scalability and performance.
- Implement the necessary changes for migration of the code to use new database layer.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of automated test suites.
- Real Time Pricing and Risk Team in Warsaw, London, New York.
- Other development teams also located in the same regions and India.
- Quantitative Analytics team.
- Application support organization
- 7+ years of relevant experience in Application Development.
- Experience with system analysis and in programming of software applications, especially as it pertains to performance and testability of components.
- Familiarity with interest rates products, associated pricing, and risk calculations a plus.
- Ability to be proactive, adjust priorities quickly.
- Experience working on a mature development in a large collaborative environment as well as coming up with ideas that challenge current practices.
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Experience with Java ecosystem.
- Expert in Java development.
- Strong understanding of Oracle and/or Sybase query optimization and migration strategies.
- Exposure to profiling, debugging and monitoring tools.
- Familiarity with Apache Flink, KDB and Kafka a plus.
- Ambition to learn aspects of systems supporting real time curve generation calculations
- ASAP – 12 months to start, potential for conversion to permanent
