RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role will have complete ownership for managing all freight payment vendors and interacting with Corporate Treasury as it relates to freight payments. This role will be responsible for freight payments, auditing, and claims across all modes of transportation. This person will be responsible for reporting findings to key business leaders, making recommendations for change, and leading efforts to implement improvements.

• Effectively communicate with key teams (Logistics, Operations, Finance, Business Units, and Carriers) on expected outcomes
• Partner with the logistic team on signing contracts with the carriers and auditing the rates.
• Collaborate with all areas of the Scholastic Supply Chain groups to seek out opportunities to improve time, cost, and quality.
• Support the logistic team in compiling and presenting analysis findings and making recommendations for improvement.
• Evaluate existing capabilities and design new systems and processes for tracking, measurement, reporting, and analysis.
• Track savings and report to finance monthly.
• Identify sources of data and build data repositories to support reporting and future analysis needs.
• Monitor all finance application data to ensure rates and other key data are accurately configured to support business decisions. Make recommendations for change as appropriate.
• Other projects/duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field or equivalent experience in data analysis, database management, or project management
• Three to five years’ experience in finance, business, and supply chain consultancy practice.
• Experience managing small to mid-size projects
• Experience with Excel, Access, Power BI, or other analytical and/or visualization software to break down large data sets and present results.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and project management skills.
• Ability to comprehend and complete solution design cost models.
• Demonstrated statistical and analytical problem-solving skills.
• Some travel required.
• Must be able to work hybrid or on-site.
