The Senior Graphic Designer creates content for social media, marketing, merchandise, labels and packaging, in a highly motivated and fast-growing atmosphere. The successful candidate has an eye for aesthetically pleasing color schemes, fonts and shapes that enable the creation of professional logos, product packaging and magazine layouts. The incumbent also maintains technical aspects of the company’s content management system (CMS) as well as keeping up with day-to-day website maintenance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create labels and packaging (first and foremost responsibility)
• Attend events
• Collaborate with creative team members to produce content
• Create guidelines for display and utilization of logos and other branding materials
• Front-end web development for marketing requests, small-scale builds, and large-scale web initiatives. Write and update code in HTML, CSS and/or JavaScript. Test browser compatibility.
• Assist with the maintenance and updating of Country Cannabis’ website. Write and edit code to support content management system templates. Assist with troubleshooting and code fixes for the Content Management Systems (CMS). Support the team with the completion of web-related project requests.
• Support the team with completion of web-related requests
• Keep website up-to-date with product information and events for each state
• Create interactive web designs and give creative input into UX/UI flow of the Company’s site and ordering capabilities.
• Execute high-priority items such home page alerts and fast-track web projects.
• Collaborate with Compliance Officer and Human Resources to create Country Cannabis’ web development guidelines. Assist with documentation of processes and make recommendations for digital marketing best practices.
• Develop departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• 5-7 years of web design, development, CMS (Content Management Systems) maintenance experience.
• Strong foundation in front-end development (HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, JavaScript, etc.).
• Experience with WordPress site maintenance and plugin updates.
• Content management system (CMS) experience and editing code for CMS templates.
• A passion for digital UX/UI strategy and experience in user flow projects and website or application builds.
• Ability to guide and train how to use company CMS and other apps.
• Interest in digital marketing strategy and driving web-based results.
• Highly motivated/self-starter with a sense of ownership, strong collaboration, willingness to learn, high degree of curiosity and desire to succeed.
• Must perform well in a fast-paced environment, balance competing priorities and demonstrate the ability to work without direct supervision.
• Must maintain a high level of confidentiality of marketing information.
• Maintains compliance with OMMA and other state cannabis regulations.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Adobe ILLUSTRATOR expert and knowledge of industry tools such as Adobe, Zeplin, OmniGraffle, and Sketch
• Familiarity with database maintenance and backend code knowledge.
• Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js a plus.
• Sketch ideas on paper before transferring them to a digital format
• Understanding of concepts such as negative space and color theory
• Mastery of industry-standard software to create logos, design reports, and complete other projects.
• Clearly communicates reasoning behind design choices
• Maintains a competitive edge against competitors’ products and industry trends
• Ability to understand business metrics and translate company goals and objectives into digital experiences.
• Demonstrated experience in magazine design and/or brochure layouts

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Media, Statistics, Computer Science, OR equivalent years of web design experience.

LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT(S)
