Position

We are looking for a self-motivated Software Data Engineer to join our growing small company. This individual will work directly with Sales, Service, and other Engineers to help grow a data analytics service around PBT’s large customer base of monitored batteries and equipment. This individual will help transform a manual collection and analysis process into a fully automated process of analysis and reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Through manual and automated processes, analyze battery sensor data to predict battery failures to schedule preventive maintenance, and to prevent outages.

· Support the collection of sensor data from thousands of sights globally.

· Develop software to parse log data, remove extraneous measurements, and store collected data in a structed data source.

· Through automated software functions, identify values that are above and below defined thresholds and slopes in collected sensor data.

· Create automated reports to provide customers with actionable insight into the health of their monitored systems.

· Develop an autonomous system to provide customers with instant notification of alarms and failures

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or similar related field, and 5 or more years of relevant engineering experience.

· Mastery of computer programming and scripting languages (C, C++, C#, Java, Python, or similar).

· Knowledge of SQL-based querying and relational databases.

· Strong interest in learning about real world battery behavior and data analysis.

· Ability to independently learn new technical skills and to push a project to completion.

· Strong communication and teamwork skills for articulating technical approaches and progress to both technical and non-technical audiences.

· Experience with Linux operating systems is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
