Job Description

The Software Developer in Test Intern (SDETI) is in a key position to contribute to the Symetrix product quality and reducing the time to market. The SDETI designs and implements automated tests, and participates in implementing, documenting, and enhancing the organization's software/firmware build and test systems and processes. They are part of the team responsible for testing and final approval of software/firmware releases for development, production, and public release. They will gain significant experience writing quality automated test code for full stack applications. The SDETI reports to the Director of Product Management.

Responsibilities

• Create automate tests using Javascript and Lua using Jest, Playwright, and other tools

• Participate in the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of automated test systems for new full stack software features and audio hardware products

• Participate in the integration of automated test systems into automated build systems for new software features and hardware products

• Write clean, maintainable code and perform peer code-reviews

• Execute assigned portions of test plans, logging bugs found and reporting results

• Collaborate with Test Engineers to ensure quality testing and meeting the required test coverage

• Collaborate with Development Engineers to identify high impact areas for test

• Utilize version control, bug tracking, and documentation systems

• Work as a team player across departments to drive product development, testing, and post release support activities

Desired Qualifications

• Recently completed or working towards completion of a BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS, or similar relevant field

• Experience with Full Stack languages including JavaScript, HTML and CSS

• Experience with Linux

• Experience with Lua, Python or other scripting languages

• Experience with Git and Github

• Knowledge of and experience with computer networking principles and implementation

• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word and Excel and other Office software

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

• Excellent time management, organizational skills and highly detail oriented

• Highly motivated, analytical thinking and creative problem solver

• Excellent work habits, professional demeanor, and positive attitude

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment; a team-player mentality is essential

• Ability to adapt and be flexible with changing priorities and tasks

• Ability and desire to identify knowledge holes and fill them through solo learning

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience/Familiarity with automated software test tools like Jest, Playwright or similar

• Experience/Familiarity with software/firmware build system using Github Actions or other Build/CI platform

• Knowledge of professional audio fundamentals and language

• Demonstrated passion for audio/music engineering and products such as studio/broadcast engineering, music production, DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), or audio DSP (Digital Signal Processing)

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
