Position Title: Staff Accountant

Reports to: Controller

FLSA: Exempt, salaried

Experience: Experience in Accounting one to three years. Experience with computers (Word and Excel), Internet, and other relevant applications are required. Bachelor's degree required. Additionally, proven experience in the following is required:

1. Ability to interact well with co-workers, supervisors, guests, vendors, contractors and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.

2. Above average organizational and verbal skills.

3. Ability to market the property.

4. Ability to accurately perform intermediate mathematical functions.

5. Strong customer service skills.

Essential Job Functions:

Job Duties:

• Prepares monthly financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger, supporting documents and property staff.
• Prepares general ledger entries, reconciles balance sheet accounts and maintains work paper files.
• Assists in preparing payments by accruing expenses and processing disbursements.
• Develops and implements accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
• Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
• Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations.
• Various projects as requested by management.
