Job Description :
Rogers Group, Inc. is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. This position is a vital element of the Corporate Accounting Team as he or she will contribute to the successful day-to-day operations and long-term growth of Corporate Accounting overall. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills. This candidate will also have the ability to work under tight deadlines and provide a high – level of customer service and analytics. This position will be based out of our Corporate office in Nashville, TN and will report directly to the Assistant Corporate Controller.
***Starting salary from $60,000/year based on education and experience
Responsibilities
- Handle full-cycle GL accounting including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
- Assist in providing quality financial reports and analysis to operational managers
- Be responsible for day to day fixed asset operations and accounting
- Maintain adequate documentation and support for financial records
- Provide support for annual audit
- Assist with budgeting and proformas, if necessary
- Handle special projects and other ad hoc tasks as needed
Qualifications
- Team player with strong collaboration and cooperation abilities
- Highly detail oriented
- Ability to research issues, make recommendations, and pick up quickly on new systems and processes
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
- Basic knowledge of FASB requirements, & Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and have the ability to work with all types of individuals
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 0-2 years accounting experience
