THE 2023 SUMMER NURSE INTERNSHIP PROGRAM provides nursing students with an opportunity to apply nursing theory to clinical practice, develop time management skills and problem solving techniques. You'll gain confidence at the bedside through observing and performing technical skills during a ten week period.

Internship Dates: May 15 through July 21, 2023.

AVAILABLE LOCATIONS/ UNITS:

• Penn Highlands Huntingdon

Acute Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Adultl Behavioral Health Unit, Operating Room or Emerency Department

• Penn Highlands Tyrone

Med/Surg, Intensive Care Unit, Operating Room, or Emergency Department

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited school of Nursing pursuing your ASN or BSN with successful completion of Sophomore or Junior Year by May 2023
• Must be able to attend SNI Orientation (you will be assigned to one day upon Facility/Unit Assignment- May 15 or May 16, 2023)
• Must be able to complete internship with minimal absenteeism
• Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher (preferred)
• Must have flexibility to work rotating shifts (you will follow your preceptor's schedule)
• Must have a customer service attitude
• Must be a team player
