Interior Designer

Marin Design Co. is looking for a qualified, and eager individual to fill the position of Design Assistant. The role of Design Assistant will be responsible for providing support to the Principal Designer and MDC studio. The Design Assistant will help lead designers with furnishings (concept boards & floor plans), prepping for presentations, meeting notes, and installs. In addition, they will be responsible with running the MDC social media accounts, so an interest and proficiency in social media management are pertinent. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and team building skills to help MDC meet project timelines and exceed client expectations. They will work collaboratively, with clients, contractors, vendors, and team members to deliver projects. Marin Design Co. is made up of a fun and creative group of people, with a goal to enrich our client’s homes and lives through our meaningful work. The position of Design Assistant has potential for growth within the company for full-time designer roles.

The position is an in-person, full time salary position with benefits.

Primary Responsibilities

• Assisting designers with execution off all project goals through the design phases
• The ability to take on many tasks, and pitch in to help the studio succeed
• Demonstrate strong communication and time management skills
• Handling office supply orders
• Directly responsible for posting across TikTok, IG, FB, Pinterest
• Capture photo content and creative video during photoshoots, installs, meetings, etc.
• Grow the social media presence across all platforms
• Update & track all inventory
• Request quotes, pricing, and samples from vendors
• Upload client items in Studio Designer, assist with creating proposals and invoices
• Learn and implement Studio Designer to help reach project goals
• Client communication
• Record meeting notes at on and off-site meetings
• Create and maintain positive relationships with vendors, trades, and clients
• Tracking orders & follow up regarding damages

Qualifications

• Must be detail oriented
• Amazing communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree required
• 0-1+ years of experience in the Interior Design industry or related field
• 1+ years of social media management knowledge preferred
• 1 years of experience with SketchUp or AutoCAD preferred
• Proficient knowledge of Canva
• Proficient in Google applications - Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc. required
• Interest in residential and commercial interior design
• Willingness to attend industry events
• Collaborative spirit with a go-getter attitude
• Must have a reliable car with a valid drivers license
