COMPETENCIES:

• BS Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 2yrs experience, preferably in metal rolling/casting/forging or heavy industrial/equipment OEM acceptable
• Experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, equipment installation and operation, controls (electrical and mechanical), furnaces, burner and controls
• Lean and Continuous Improvement background with good Problem Solving skills
• Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• Willingness to work with others
• Must be able to multi-task
• Must be self-motivated
• Must be computer proficient (Office, SolidWorks required; AutoCAD a plus)
• Must be detail oriented

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Organize, maintain and safeguard all drawings, specifications, manuals, etc. pertaining to the facilities, buildings, processes, equipment and machinery.
• Assist in developing systems in the Engineering Department including standards for documentation, data collection (Factory Talk or similar), project management, etc.
• Work with teams of production and maintenance personnel to research various topics including: equipment, components, process improvement, troubleshooting problems, etc.
• Create/maintain necessary drawings for In-house and Contractor fabrications.
• Assist with vendor coordination and expediting
• Manage projects or portions of projects as assigned by others
• Work with maintenance crews to assist with document retrieval, component procurement, PM development and troubleshooting issues.
• Assist with environmental data logging, reporting and improvements.
• Contact person for basic machine control principles and programming

• Interface internally with employees.
• Interface externally with the vendors and the general public.
