Responsible for supervising the overall bus operations at a given yard. This includes providing leadership and direction for the Bus Transportation, Bus Maintenance, Contracted Services and Service Departments. Required to ensure that all operations are carried out in an efficient manner in full compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Specific Responsibilities

• Supervise the operation of the bus and maintenance department and manage supervisors for the purposes of ensuring the yard operates efficiently and in full compliance with the law.
• Supervise assigned staff for the purpose of ensuring work assignments are complete and within department objectives. Review work as necessary to ensure quality work performance. Discipline staff as appropriate.
• Prepare and draft reports and documents for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written support and/or conveying information. Ensure all clerical work and paperwork is prepared to provide up-to-date reference and to comply with regulatory requirements and established guidelines
• Respond to appropriate safety and/or operational concerns and ensure that all safety issues are resolved. Maintain a functioning passenger transportation environment.
• Responsible for responding to complaints and inquiries from the companies customers concerning service issues and maintaining quality relationships with all customers. Interface with school district officials, parents and other contracted customers.

Communicate and coordinate with other managers and supervisors at the yard to ensure that all operations are performed in a timely manner and in compliance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements.

• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the safe, efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

LICENSE: NYS Commercial Driver’s License, Class B with Airbrake endorsement issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles.
