Job Summary:

Works under the supervision of the Oncology Pharmacy Manager, or Director of Pharmacy, to provide high quality pharmacy services to the Oncology Clinic. Supports the mission, vision and values of Skagit Regional Health, an integrated healthcare system. Responsible for comprehensive pharmaceutical care through order processing, clinical services, and patient education.

Essential Functions:

• Effectively managing costs through reduced drug waste, directing operations to minimize wait times, maintain all pharmacy regulations and safety procedures.
• Maintains inventory levels to organizational goals, rotates stock, complies with recalls and utilizes return process.
• Ensures accuracy and safety of all medications provided to patients in area(s) of responsibility. Participate with developing and implementing Skagit Regional Health and Clinical Pharmacy initiatives to meet clinical, safety, and operational objectives.
• Focuses on customer satisfaction and needs, through effective communication during all interactions, and consistent with SRH Service Standards and Code of Conduct. In the absence of the Oncology Pharmacy Manager, this position is responsible for the day to day operations of Oncology Pharmacy.
• Ensures that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and effectively by appropriately prioritizing workload.
• Maintains proper pharmacy and general safety procedures and standards, including department cleanliness.
• Maintains compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, organizational policies and procedures, and record keeping for medications, including controlled substances.

Education:

• Graduate from an accredited pharmacy college recognized by the American Council of Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE).
• Doctor of Pharmacy is required for external applicants.
• Acute Care and Oncology residencies and / or Board Certification (BCPS and BCOP) are preferred.

License/Certification:

• Must have an active Washington State pharmacy license held in good standing.
• Preceptor license, or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• AHA (American Heart Association) BLS is required.

Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years of pharmacy experience is required.
• Prior Oncology Pharmacy experience is highly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of applicable federal and state pharmacy laws and regulations is required.
