The two primary functions of this position will be to drive company growth by developing new revenue and market share, in addition to coaching the Aqua Treat field team toward success within their specific roles and responsibilities. The Sales Manager must have the ability to lead the team in developing, improving, and implementing successful sales strategies and revenue development.
This position must also maintain key relationships with managed personnel and customers through the following methods:
- Frequent communication and follow-up;
- Strategic planning;
- Critical evaluation; and
- Root cause analysis to identify needs and responding solutions
Additionally, this position requires one to be cognizant of market trends, competition, portfolios and emerging technologies. Success in this position will be measured by the team’s ability to increase company revenue, strengthen its market share, collaborate as a group, maintain customer satisfaction, and team compliance with set company standards.
This position is responsible for managing the following territories:
- Bay Area
- San Jose
- Salinas
- Surrounding territories
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement strategic business growth goals, sales plans, directives and company initiatives
- Providing expert-level technical and account management support to the field team, with a coaching to success approach
- Application sound, six-sigma based root-cause engineering analysis in all field applications, on an as needed basis. Development of technical application standards for company service personnel
- Provide team leadership through effective implementation and guidance on various company programs, projects, technologies, and new business processes
- Develop and monitor employee performance plans, milestones, work flows, and progress indicators
- Conduct routine visits with key accounts to assess customer satisfaction, Aqua Treat performance, and possible growth opportunities
- Implement, teach, and monitor the success of company standards and methodologies
- Conduct direct selling in the field and through bidding processes
- Cultivate and maintain a positive working culture within the Aqua Treat team
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Strong educational background in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial) or Life Sciences (Chemistry, Biology, etc.) is preferred, though strong real-life experience in these trades will take precedence.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of 7 years of water treatment related field/management experience.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills (e-mails, comprehensive service reports, proposals, etc.)
- Expert-level knowledge in water treatment practices, specifically in at least three of the following applications: steam, cooling, pretreatment, wastewater, sanitation.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and online reporting systems
- Self-driven toward achievement, with an effective ability to cultivate team collaboration
- High emotional intelligence and aptitude in working with others
- Continuously self-motivated to learn and retain new information and skill sets
- Enjoys and is skilled in direct selling and generating new revenue streams
