Responsibility and Scope of Practice:

The Revenue Cycle Manager oversees the day-to-day billing operations for behavioral health settings and supervises a team two of Billing Specialists and around 200 clients. This position is responsible for revenue cycle management (RCM) team operations including coding, charge-entry, claims submission, collections, and payment posting, and denials management to achieve revenue goals and maximize cash flow. This position will manage workflow and resolve problems to achieve peak productivity, as well as train, motivate, and manage team members for optimal performance. This position is supervisory and specialized skills.

Hours Worked:

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position Located at our Central Office location in St. Cloud, MN. The schedule includes work during usual business hours. This position may be considered for hybrid office locations.

Responsible To:

The Revenue Cycle Manager reports directly to the President/CFO.

Responsibilities and Standards of Performance:

  • Ongoing process improvement analysis; and implementation of system improvements. Oversight includes all activities within the scope of the Billing Department including coding, charge/data entry, financial counseling, cash posting, insurance follow-up, and billing and collection of patient balances.
  • Ensure Billing Department adheres to regulations, company policy, HIPAA, 42CFR, CMS, DHS guidelines and statutes and contract requirements.
  • Identifies, analyzes and addresses challenges and/or breakdowns in the revenue cycle process.
  • Perform ongoing trend analysis of payer rejections and denials. Perform proactive audits on all recommended A/R write offs and present audit results to CFO.
  • Collection rates, ongoing analysis and monitoring.
  • Serves as the resident expert and "go to" person for all coding, billing and collections processes.
  • Analyzes actionable claims data, including revenue and volume, by region, payor, program service code, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with Accounting Department to contribute to cash reconciliation actives and to assist in the assessment of accounts receivable collectability and validation, including the writing off of bad debts.
  • Assist with review of contracted rates verses reimbursements.
  • Creates and develops reports to address management needs; analyze information to identify trends or issues.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations
  • Work in multiple EHR systems.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required or equivalent education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in billing, accounts receivable in a healthcare setting.
  • Minimum 2 years’ supervisory experience, preferably in health care and behavioral health setting.
  • Recent experience working with Credible Behavioral Health EHR is highly preferred.
