Senior Data Scientist Construction and Facilities

General Responsibilities:

The Senior Data Scientist will report into the VP Facilities & Construction and is responsible for generating insights and recommendations for the Facilities and Construction department. The Senior Data Scientist will build descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive models with the ultimate goal of streamlining high priority company initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Curate data from many sources, including internal databases and external vendors, and aggregate to a format appropriate for building descriptive reports or predictive models

2. Solve complex analytical problems using quantitative approaches using unique blend of technical, business mathematical, analytical and data skills

3. Use deep understanding of statistical and predictive modeling concepts, machine learning approaches, clustering and classification techniques, and recommendation and optimization algorithms

4. Analyze large, complex multi-dimensional data sets with variety of tools

5. Partner with business stakeholders and external vendors to prepare and maintain reports/dashboards that will be used to derive insights into past/present business performance

6. Collaborate with Design, Construction, Facilities, and EV infrastructure teams to develop a deep understanding of needs

7. Propose solutions and strategies to business challenges

8. Research and devise innovative statistical models for data analysis

Educational Background:

• Degree in a quantitative field with an emphasis on predictive modeling, including: Statistics, Data Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Economics

Required Experience:

• 4+ years experience querying data from relational databases using SQL

• Experience with Excel, Powerpoint, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI

• Fluency in a mathematical programming language, such as R, SLQ, Python: familiarity with Scala, Java or C++ is an asset

• 4+ years experience building data science models with big data

Preferred Experience:

• Experience building statistical models, such as: Generalized Linear Models, ARIMA models, Generalized Additive Models, Bayesian models, tree models, and deep neural networks

• Experience generating and solving optimization models

• Knowledge of optimization tools such as: CPLEX, Gurobi, FICO Xpress or similar a plus

• Experience working in a cloud computing environment, such as AWS or Azure

• Analytical mind and business acumen

• Strong math skills

• Problem solving aptitude

• Excellent communication and presentation skills
