Torch Technologies, a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking an intermediate level engineer to fill an immediate opening. Primary duties will involve the design, development, and testing of advanced algorithms as well as data reduction and interpretation of data from real-time systems. A well-suited applicant will be a self-motivating individual capable of working independently and within a team environment and possess good oral and written communication skills.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Analyzing data, algorithms, and their interaction to improve algorithm performance.
• Interpreting data, identifying trends, and analyzing results using statistical techniques.
• Collaborating with multi-function team.
• Presenting analysis to peers and management.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.

Qualified candidates will have direct experience or possess an understanding in one or more of the following areas:

• EO/IR Optical Phenomenology
• Aerodynamic motion estimation
• Multi-object association and tracking
• Multi-camera geometry and image calibration
• Material Physics
• Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning

Good computational software skills are required. Experience with MATLAB, Java, C++, and Python is preferred. An advanced degree in physics, engineering, or similar technical discipline and a minimum of five years of experience is required. Position may require travel.

Position requires that candidate meet requirements to obtain a final security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position.
