GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Cashiers are responsible for facilitating money transactions for customers by using a cash register. Cashiers handle large amounts of money each day, and are expected to act with honesty and integrity, and must possess excellent customer service skills.

● Operate the cash register and handle all payments

● Provide outstanding customer service to ensure customer satisfaction

● Assists customers in locating various products or providing information.

· Escalate any customer complaints to management so they can be effectively resolved

● Handling adjustments, returns, over rings, voids, etc. to maintain a smooth flow of customers.

● Ensuring safe operating procedures are followed.

● Performing other related job duties assigned by leadership.

● Excellent attendance, punctuality, and reliability are essential requirements of this position

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITION

● Communicates verbally with members of management & other employees, in team settings, or one-on-one settings

● Continually required to stand for duration of 8/hour, 10/hour or 12/hour work shifts

● Position requires the essential use of both hands, wrists, arms, as well as use of speech, eyesight, and hearing.

● Lifting range for this position: Up to 20-60 lbs.

● Job requires standing for lengthy periods of time during 8-10/hour or 12/hour work shifts, as well as kneeling, crouching, over-the-head reaching.

● Noise level for this work environment is typically high.

QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required for the job:

Must be bi-lingual (Spanish/English)

Ability to adapt quickly and effectively to customer flow.

Ability to comply with all safety rules, as well as state/federal and local health codes and regulations that apply to the job.

Ensuring customer areas of the store are maintained and clear of carts/debris.

Works with the packaging/stocking team to make sure all product orders being provided to the customer are complete and quality.

Ensuring loaders are checking all cart wagons at point of exit for accuracy of order.

Ensuring that loaders are loading carts and assisting customers to the parking lot.,

Ability to work in damp/humid work areas, around wet floors, and to work in cold/hot room temperatures, in dusty/dry work environments, and hot room temperatures.

Ability to maintain a positive, cooperative demeanor, conduct, and working relationship with team members, store supervisors and leadership team.

Ability to work overtime as needed for the successful completion of job duties (may include working weekends or longer hours during peak seasonal periods).
