What You Will Do:

  • Introduce software engineering to our organization, helping create innovative software that adds value to our currently standalone enterprise systems.
  • Define an appropriate enterprise architecture and strategy that will spark innovation.
  • Work closely with all business functions (buyers, salespeople, warehouse workers, transportation, etc.) and business analyst to understand daily, weekly, monthly, and other cyclical needs. Leverages understanding of business to develop high quality code to meet requirements.
  • Applies agile development approaches, with a strong customer-focus & results-orientation to develop clear sense of direction and trust with stakeholders. Leads short iterations, frequent inspections, adaptations of code. Negotiates trade-offs and compromises.
  • Leads adoption of software development best procedures and concepts, including agile practices like user stories, incremental design, test-driven development to ensure performance, scaling, resilience, and maintainability of software/solutions.
  • Passionate about their project and their job. A problem solver, and proud of it.
  • Must always be learning (technology, our business, the industry, our customers).

**This position will be in office, located at our corporate building**

What You Need:

  • Full-stack software engineering, with demonstrated experience in UX and back-end.
  • 3-5+ years of software development experience in an Agile environment (e.g., Scrum).
  • Proficiency in C#, Objective C and.NET; Prefer 3+ years of SQL Server, LINQ, T-SQL.
  • Knowledge of Progress 4GL desired.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills—and a knack for explaining your decision-making process to those not in IT.
  • Thorough grasp of technology concepts, business operations, design and development tools, system architecture standards and development best practices like test-driven development, code reviews, static code analysis and secure coding.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience preferred.

Preferred, but not required experience:

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and online order entry
  • Experience working in the food service industry
